CW: suicide. - Please do not read if you might find this distressing.

I've been thinking about writing this for a while but I've been so unsure of what to say, but the most important thing I want to say is thank you.

Thank you for listening to me when I thought no one else would.

Thank you for taking me seriously.

Thank you for helping me to think clearly when there was only one thing on my mind.

Thank you for helping me know that it is ok to tell someone that I was struggling.

Thank you for allowing me to take a step back.

Thank you for reassuring me that I would be able to get through this.

Thank you for giving me someone easy to talk to.

Thank you for showing me that I am worthy of help.

Thank you for making sure I was safe.

Thank you for encouraging me to tell someone that things were bad.

Thank you for telling me that I will get better.

I don't know your name and can barely remember what you said but...

Thank you for helping me to keep myself alive.

If you or someone you know is thinking about suicide, you can call Lifeline on 13 11 14, Kids Helpline on 1800 551 800, Mensline Australiaon 1300 789 978 or the Suicide Call Back Service 1300 659 467 in Australia. Trust me it will be worth it and it's not as scary as it might seem. For international crisis lines, follow the link in the sidebar menu or call your local emergency number.
